I have created worksheets for use with IPADS with QR codes to the website to develop independent research

Careers Information Advice & Guidance Coordinator/Adviser

I run activities for Year 9 10 11 looking at all progression routes. I use the Direct Gov get in go far website to research vacancies via 1-1 intervention. I have created worksheets for use with IPADS with QR codes to the website to develop independent research and ensure students are competent to use the website. I have invited previous school leavers in to talk about why and how they chose an apprenticeship. I also invite a wide range of training providers and employers to talk about apprenticeships and to do activities to challenge stereotypes. We provide a daily lunch time Job Club for Year 11 to attend for help with research, applications, CV and interview tips. Regular notices are sent to students via email and published on the notice board with up to date vacancies. A wide range of information and web links on apprenticeships are on the student computer dashboard and school website and student planners. A school Governor who is in the construction industry actively supports the Career programme and uses her network of contact to also support the programme.
