New partnership set to tackle underrepresentation in apprenticeships

September 15, 2023

A new collaboration between Amazing Apprenticeships and the Black Apprentice Network is set to tackle the underrepresentation of individuals who are of African and the Caribbean descent. The partnership will help more individuals to access apprenticeships and inspire a future generation to consider apprenticeships as one of their options.

In recognition of Black History Month, members of the Black Apprentice Network have been sharing their personal stories about how they found out about apprenticeships, and the job roles that they are now undertaking. These stories have been collated into a unique collection and circulated to secondary schools and colleges across England, to share with their students and colleagues.

“It’s vital that we find new ways to inspire young people and their families by sharing stories of current and past apprentices. This collection provides a brilliant and inspiring set of resources that schools can use throughout the year to help to engage and inform their students, and their families, about the possibilities out there.” Anna Morrison CBE, Amazing Apprenticeships

The collection features 7 inspiring apprentices, undertaking a range of different apprenticeships at a variety of organisations including PR & Comms, Solicitor, Accountancy Professional, Software Engineer, Compliance & Risk and Chartered Manager.
