Apprenticeships Details
Retail Degree Apprenticeship
Our Retail Management Degree Apprenticeship Scheme is a fast-track development programme designed to give you all the tools that you need to begin your career in Retail and progress to becoming a member of the management team in one of our stores.
Over the 3 years, you will learn and experience every aspect of working in a store as a valued member of the team and to understand how to provide the best for our customers. You will work towards becoming a Store Coach (Manager) by the end of the programme. Alongside this, you will be enrolled at a university to study the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship on a part-time basis whilst also working in a Dunelm store.
All successful graduates are awarded a BA (Hons) Business Management Professional degree from Henley Business School, as well as a Level 6 degree apprenticeship.
Buying and Merchandising Apprenticeship
Our Buying and merchandising scheme is designed to give you all the tools that you need to begin your careers within the commercial department.
The 2-year programme will make sure you’re challenged, supported, and will give you plenty of room to grow. You will be buddied up with a capable Junior Merchandiser & Buyer, who were once in your shoes, so feel confident that you will learn from the best!
Over the 2 years, you will learn and experience every aspect of working as a Buying Assistant and will be part of the Buying team that is responsible for planning and selecting the products we sell, both in-store and online. You will work closely with our suppliers to provide compelling, competitive offers to our customers. As an apprentice, you will work towards becoming a Junior Buyer by the end of the programme. Alongside this, you will be enrolled on to a Level 4 Buying and Merchandising apprenticeship – equivalent to a higher BTEC qualification.
Over the 2 years, you will learn and experience every aspect of working as a Merchandising Assistant. In this role, you will work alongside your Buying Team to ensure our stores have products in the right place at the right time. You’ll learn how to analyse sales data, manage stock levels and collaborate with suppliers to support the department’s success. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who has an eye for numbers, an analytical approach and using data information to help make future business decisions for our future product range.
Insight & Analytics Apprenticeship
Our Data Scientist Degree Apprenticeship Scheme is a development programme designed to give you all the tools that you need to begin your career in Insight & Analytics and learn the foundations of what makes a good Insight Analytics professional. The 4-year programme will make sure you’re challenged, supported, and will give you plenty of room to grow.
Over the 4 years, you will learn and experience every aspect of working as an Analyst. You will work towards becoming a Data Analyst by the end of the programme. Alongside this, you will be enrolled on to a Level 4 Data Scientist Degree apprenticeship – equivalent to a Bachelors degree.

Your application will take about 15 minutes to complete, so have your CV and predicted grades ready. We review applications within a week of the closing date.

If you’re successful, we’ll set up a 20-minute Microsoft Teams chat to talk about your motivations, your understanding of Dunelm, and your passion for the role.

If things go well, you’ll be invited to our in-person Assessment Centre. Before attending, you’ll complete an online personality questionnaire to help us get to know you better and identify how we can bring out the best in you.

The session at the Assessment Centre lasts about 5-6 hours, so make sure you have enough travel time. For some roles, like in Finance or Insight & Analytics, you might need to do numerical or verbal tests, but don’t worry—we’ll let you know in advance so you can be prepared.
We’ll make final hiring decisions within a week of your visit to the Assessment Centre and provide feedback to everyone.
