What makes us a great employer

Communities and Culture

We are a company of builders who bring varying backgrounds, ideas, and points of view to inventing on behalf of our customers. Our diverse perspectives come from many sources including gender, race, age, national origin, sexual orientation, culture, education, and professional and life experience. We are committed to diversity and inclusion and always look for ways to scale our impact as we grow.

Apprenticeship Community

At Amazon, apprentices are not just employees, they are part of a vibrant, supportive community. From the moment you join the apprenticeship programme, you’ll be welcomed into a network of fellow apprentices who are all embarking on similar journeys of learning and professional development. Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll have the chance to build lasting connections with a diverse group of talented individuals who share your passion for innovation – this sense of camaraderie and belonging is a unique hallmark of the Amazon apprentice experience.

Employee Resource Groups

We have 13 employee resource groups, also known as affinity groups, which bring Amazon employees together across businesses and locations around the world. These resource groups play an important role in building internal networks for creating a community. Some examples include the Black Employee Network (BEN), Amazon Women in Engineering (AWE), and Glamazon.

Rewards and Recognition

Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, apprentices may have the opportunity to earn accolades that highlight their exceptional performance and contributions. This can include quarterly or annual awards that honour apprentices who have demonstrated outstanding technical skills, leadership, teamwork, and embodiment of the organisation’s core values. Top-performing apprentices may also be nominated for prestigious awards that recognise the apprentice who has made the most significant impact. In addition to these formal awards, apprenticeship programmes typically provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to help apprentices identify areas for growth and celebrate their successes. This culture of recognition not only motivates apprentices to excel, but also showcases the immense value they bring to the organisation.
