Developing Quality apprenticeships:

A UNIQUE 4-part virtual conference SERIES

Developing Quality Apprenticeships was a unique 4-part virtual conference series offering employers and training providers the very latest thinking around apprenticeships, the skills and youth employment policy and social mobility agendas.

The series presented a rare opportunity to hear from leading experts from the skills sector as they came together to present the latest thinking, policy developments and updates to employers and training providers.

Attendees learnt how to develop high-quality apprenticeships to attract, recruit, nurture and support brilliant talent from as wide a talent pool as possible.

Great session today with Amazing Apprenticeships and Youth Employment UK.

We put so much effort into creating these roles, let’s make sure young people from every background are better prepared for the working world and really understand the commitment of earning and learning and how far a solid career can really take you.

Raising the Quality of Apprenticeships

session 1

“Really enjoyable and informative.” Chris Lang, CEO, PSFI, Delegate.

Session one was an unparalleled opportunity to hear from a wide range of authorities on how and why to raise the quality of apprenticeships. Coca Cola European Partners’ amazing apprentice Amelia offered candid thought, advice and first-hand experience, Paul Russell of ESFA presented the latest ESFA quality stats and benchmarking tools, Lauren Mistry of Youth Employment UK explored the latest Youth Census results with a focus on apprenticeships and a brilliantly thought-provoking panel session featuring David Gallagher, Jane Hickie and Jonathan Mitchell. The panel discussion centered around the challenges and approaches that need addressing around apprenticeships with speakers divulging their top three issues in a frank discussion.

Supporting young disadvantaged people

session 2

Not only is it the right thing to do, but with 77% of millennials and genZ wanting to work with inclusive organisations, supporting young, disadvantaged people widens the talent pool and strengthens the recruitment pipeline.

In session 2, we were joined by expert speakers from The Social Mobility Commission, Impetus, EDSK, Essex County Council and the Department for Education to explore the latest policy developments aimed at helping young people into apprenticeships to understand how your organisation can affect change for the better.

PATHWAYS TO APPRENTICESHIPS

session 3

There are so many different pathways to apprenticeships, all offering different opportunities, but how much do you know about traineeships, T Levels, Kickstart, and how to implement the opportunities within your organisation?

In session 3, we were joined by influential speakers from the Edge Foundation, DWP, WMCA and the Careers and Enterprise Company to dissect the opportunities, the latest research and policy. We outline the many routes to an apprenticeship position and look at how organisations and training providers can make the most of them.

SMEs and Good Youth Employers

session 4

Talent pipelines are a little like the holy grail of recruitment. How to ensure there is always someone with potential ready to step into the next position. How to cast the net in the widest possible pool. How to attract, impress and win over talent to join and crucially stay with your operation.

In session 4, we were joined by speakers who have done exactly that and shared their success with strategies employed to build brilliant talent pipelines.
