Competitive starting salary

Earn while you learn with a Babcock apprenticeship. We offer a competitive apprentice starting salary for apprentices, ranging from £12,000 to £30,000 per annum. Salary is dependent on factors such as the apprenticeship level, discipline and location. You can find the specific salary on the individual job posting.

Early careers support

You’ll be assigned a member of the early careers team or a business mentor who can help guide you through these early stages of your career. You’ll have regular catch-ups where they’ll provide you with advice, resources and support throughout your apprenticeship.

Social and community life

We have a wide network of apprentices and graduates who join Babcock each year and there’s always a social event for you to get involved with. Apprenticeships Details

Our Apprenticeships

As a Babcock apprentice, you will gain practical experience in the workplace while also undertaking a part time course with a training provider.

We have apprenticeships across Marine, Nuclear, Land and Aviation in:

  • Business
  • Engineering and skilled trades
  • Science

We are very proud that apprentices choose to stay with us long after completion of their apprenticeship. In fact, many of our senior managers started their careers as apprentices in Babcock.

Apprenticeships in Marine

As an apprentice in the Marine sector, you could help support projects such as:

  • Design and build of warships
  • Warship through-life support
  • Submarine and equipment through-life support
  • Weapons handling and launch systems for ships and submarines
  • Design, build and support of secure military communications systems
  • World-leading commercial liquid gas engineering systems
Apprenticeships in Nuclear

As an apprentice in the Nuclear sector, you could help support projects such as:

  • Complex engineering support to the entire UK nuclear submarine fleet, and to international navies
  • Management of critical national infrastructure
  • End-to-end engineering integration partnership for AWE deterrent production
  • UK civil nuclear new build, generation support and decommissioning projects
  • Growing international nuclear services portfolio
Apprenticeships in Land

As an apprentice in the Land sector, you could help support projects such as:

  • Military vehicle build and systems integration
  • Strategic asset management and through-life engineering support for military equipment
  • Engineering services in power generation and transport networks, and through-life support of mining equipment
  • Modern individual and collective training for customers with critical missions
Apprenticeships in Aviation

As an apprentice in the Aviation sector, you could help support projects such as:

  • Military training for the two largest Air Forces in Europe (France and UK), training pilots and operators from university through to combat operations
  • Through-life support of operational military flying assets
  • Critical air operations for governments, saving lives and protecting communities

    The only way to apply is through our website. Once you click ‘Apply’, you’ll be taken to our application site. Set up a candidate profile and you can start applying for roles at Babcock.

    Make sure to save your application as you go along (you don’t want to lose anything if you get timed out or want to come back later).

    When uploading your CV to our homepage, please keep it as simple as possible by avoiding fancy graphics or tables. Please submit your CV as a PDF or DOC file.

    When you have created your account, you will receive an email with a link to your account where you can check on the progress of your application.

    If you’re shortlisted, you’ll be asked to complete some online assessments. These help us select candidates to invite to our assessment centres or interview.

    Our assessment centres and interviews typically run from November to March around the UK and online. This is our chance to find out more about you and your chance to find out more about us.

    Once you’ve attended your interview or assessment centre, you might also be asked to attend a final selection interview.

    Soon after your final assessment, we’ll let you know if you’ve secured a place.
