As challenges evolve, so does policing. New technologies and methods are transforming how we deliver our services, and to maintain the highest standards, we need the best talent to join us. Policing is unique and rewarding—we are proud to be TVP, and you will be too.

What our apprentices do!

“I was really keen to become a call handler at TVP because I knew that I would find it extremely rewarding, I needed a job where I could make a difference and that would be fulfilling knowing that you’re helping people. This role certainly ticks those boxes and to be able to do an apprenticeship alongside a job you love and achieving qualifications at the same time is a fantastic opportunity.”

“I’ve been with TVP for nearly four years now. I started as a 999/101 Call Handler apprentice just as COVID-19 was entering our lives. Initially bound for the Control Room in Abingdon, I completed my tutoring and mentoring at Kidlington Contact Management Centre due to pandemic restrictions. I felt settled there and decided to make the transfer permanent. After about 18 months, I joined the Talent Pool Development Programme, collaborating with Hampshire Constabulary on the Contact Management Change Portfolio. This broadened my policing knowledge and led me to apply for an Operations Manager position.”

“I never wanted an office job and was always more attracted to the prospect of a physically active role. I chose a role within the police because I enjoy helping people, and have always found helping vulnerable individuals particularly gratifying. The Police Community Support Officer role seemed to fit with these values so was a natural choice.”
