How has ASK engaged with other Local Authorities?
London Borough of Hounslow
Watch the short film below to discover how the ASK Programme worked alongside the London Borough of Hounslow to support young people through a series of online webinars.
“Bradley has been extremely flexible in supporting and contributing to the London Borough of Hounslow Connexions Service 2020 Summer Programme. His delivery of the ASK live session in the summer was very informative and it was clear he is very knowledgeable and had done a lot of preparation to meet the needs of young people in the London Borough of Hounslow. We really look forward to continuing to work with him going forward.”
ASK partner GWP worked alongside Wiltshire Council to deliver a Virtual Careers Event for young people in care called Your Choices, Your Future. Local colleges, training providers, local and national employers, the Armed Forces, NHS and universities came together to provide information, advice and guidance to support young people through NEET prevention.
“Wiltshire Council’s annual careers event to support those in care or are about to leave care was held virtually for the first time. The event offers the opportunity for the young people to discuss future plans with representatives from employers, support organisations and education providers including colleges, universities and apprenticeship providers to think of next steps after school.
Mike Holliday from Gloucestershire & Wiltshire Partnership, also representing the ASK programme, was one of the support organisations involved where a video was streamed live during the event with information on apprenticeships and an opportunity for young people to ask questions on the live chat. The event was hosted by Learnlive and funded through the Careers Enterprise Company with the videos available for the young people to access throughout the year.
The careers event, organised by the Wiltshire Virtual School and the Employment and Skills Team was held just a few days before national Care Leavers’ Week, which this year focuses on care leavers with careers.”
