International Women’s Day

In a team of inspiring female leadership and representation, it is important to us to recognise and celebrate the hard work, successes and achievements of women across all of our work. International Women’s Day provides an opportunity each year to highlight this positivity and bring women to the forefront of celebrations and conversations publicly.

Over the last few years, we have celebrated women in industry in a number of ways.

In 2018, we brought together women from the apprenticeship and education sector to a celebration event and workshop at the National Gallery in London.

In 2019, 23 local businesswomen joined us in a breakfast celebration event with our MP to discuss priorities and support for female leaders in the local town.

In 2020, in the space of 2 weeks, we worked with top employers and providers across the country to identify 25 inspiring female apprentices across different roles and sectors and created a suite of resources celebrating their stories, that would be shared in over 4,000 schools and colleges across England.

Schools and employers alike have shared glowing feedback about the resources, which mark the achievements and diverse roles of current apprentices, whilst helping to inspire the next generation of female apprentices.

“We are surrounded by inspirational female role models; in our team, in the people we work with and across the different projects and programmes we become involved in. It is important to us to share and celebrate in the achievements of these women, in the hope of raising aspirations and confidence for other females in the future.”
