  2. Keep your search term broad e.g. for ‘St Thomas Moore School’, search for ‘Thomas Moore’ to avoid any confusion between St. / Saint / St
  3. Avoid punctuation and broaden your search term
  4. The bespoke ASK offer is only available to schools and establishments in England. For other areas, please feel free to refer to our online resources

Awareness assembly

For audiences of students, teachers or parents, the ASK delivery partner will provide overall information on apprenticeships, what they are, what opportunities are available, the application process and further information on areas such as Higher & Degree apprenticeships or STEM.

The Ambassadors’ role will be to share their story at the end of this presentation, usually taking between 5-10 minutes to discuss what their role is, how they applied, what their journey has been and allowing for Q&A. The YAAN training day supports Ambassadors in creating & delivering their presentation, the slide template for which is available on the portal.

REGISTRATION & APPLICATION WORKSHOPS

These workshops will support students to register, search and apply for apprenticeships, as well as understand and prepare for the different stages and requirements of the application process.

The Ambassadors’ role could vary in these sessions, from providing support to students on using the system, to sharing details on their own application experience and offering advice on ways to stand out. The ASK delivery partner will contact you prior to the event to confirm these details.

HAVE-A-GO WORKSHOPS

This includes a range of engaging and interactive group exercises, such as practising interview skills, interactive group tasks, applications do’s and don’ts, video interview demonstrations and understanding competency frameworks.

Ambassadors’ support will vary by session, but may include participation in or assessing students in the activities. You may also be asked to share your personal experiences of doing an apprenticeship with the students. The ASK delivery partner will contact you prior to the event to confirm these details.

CAREERS FAIRS

This will involve ASK attending careers fairs and providing information and resources about apprenticeships.

An Ambassador would support the delivery partner by being available on the stand to discuss their own story and experiences with students, teachers or parents.

PARENTS’ SUPPORT

Parents’ support could include ASK delivering information sessions on apprenticeships, sessions on supporting their children to make applications, as well as understanding new recruitment methods.

Ambassadors would be asked to share their story with the audience, similarly to the input in the awareness assemblies.

TEACHER CPD AND EVENTS

Sessions will include 30 minute CPD sessions that upskill and inform teachers and colleagues about apprenticeships, as well as more in-depth workshops focussing on specific areas.
