About our Apprenticeships
TVP offers apprenticeships across both police officer and police staff roles. The length of programme depends on the qualification the apprentice is working towards. Typically our apprenticeships take between one and three years to complete.
Our apprenticeships are high quality development programmes. You will be fully supported to achieve your apprenticeship, with structured learning and development provided by Thames Valley Police professionals and, for some occupations, in conjunction with a specialist training organisation.
The outcome of this development will be a nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification which will help you succeed in your job and progress your future career.
Apprenticeships are an established way of recruiting into many departments at Thames Valley Police, with opportunities already offered in the following departments:
- Learning & Development (Training)
- People Services (HR)
- Motor Vehicle Technician
- Corporate Communications
- Finance & Accountancy
- ICT (Information Technology)
- Emergency Service Contact Handling (999/101)
We will soon be introducing new apprenticeship pathways into policing with the introduction of the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship and the PSCO Apprenticeship. Watch this space for more information.
