About Alistair Head
Please summarise why you think you would make a good apprentice ambassador?
I have been the Vice Chair of the West Midlands Ambassador Network Since May 2017
What was the apprenticeship application / recruitment process like?
A contact of mine that I met during the careers fair when I was 15, made contact with me around the time I was beginning to apply for apprenticeships, making me aware of a company that he respected and thought would be a good opportunity for me. After this I had to apply Via the companies website and attend an initial interview. Following the initial interview I was invited back for a second interview. A third meeting, to sign paperwork, was organised after a short phone call to explain the apprenticeship position was mine and they would be happy to employee me if I wanted it.
What are you responsible for at work?
I am responsible for the servicing of all press tools that are used within the company as well as looking after the tooling breakdowns that may occur. I specialise in the selection of tooling that is referred to as the 'laser line tools'. These selection of tools are used to help create sections that are then welded together using a laser welder.
