About Rusian Brooks
Please summarise why you think you would make a good apprentice ambassador?
I think I would make a good apprentice ambassador because I have only recently started this apprentice and I feel like I can give my opinion on beginning an apprentice. I have previous workplace experience and I was able to transfer some skills across for my previous job. I think I will be able to give my experiences and help new apprentices who have had both a previous job and new into the job world. I see myself as quite a confident and open minded person who is willing to help anyone.
What was the apprenticeship application / recruitment process like?
The application and recruitment service was really relaxed. I think everyone has the initial nerves about an interview and hoping to be accepted. During this process I met a lot of the staff I would potentially be working with as well as some apprentices already on the programme. These apprentices gave me an idea of some of the tasks I may have been involving myself in. This interested me a lot and made me want the job even more.
What are you responsible for at work?
At the moment, I am responsible for overseeing the Mentor Training events that my workplace provides for externals. This has really developed my organisation skills and I am now communicating with academics and many externals.
