Nuclear Engineer Degree Apprenticeship

Spend four years following the Nuclear Scientist and Nuclear Engineer apprentice standard, studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Your time will be split between the National College for Nuclear, Somerset, and an EDF Energy office. Study will be full time in the first year and across years two, three and four, time spent at the workplace will increase as you continue your studies through block release and distance learning.

Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship

Spend five years following the Civil Engineering Site Management apprentice standard, studying for a Civil Engineering Site Management degree. The majority of your tuition will fall within four two-week residential periods, delivered by the University of Exeter. You’ll also study elements of the degree during time spent at your EDF Energy location.

Quantity Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship

Spend five years following the Chartered Surveyor apprentice standard, studying for a Quantity Surveyor Degree. You’ll study at the University of the West of England on a day release basis to complete your degree, with the rest of your time spent at an EDF Energy office.

Project Controls Apprenticeship

Spend three years following the Project Controls Technician apprentice standard studying a level 3 Diploma in project control practice. You’ll study at the National College for Nuclear, Somerset, on a block release basis, with the rest of your time spent at an EDF Energy office.

Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship

Spend four years following the Maintenance and Operations Engineer Technician apprentice standard, studying for a BTEC level 3 with the potential for further education.  The first two years are full time residential study at the National College for Nuclear, Somerset, with the last two years spent on an EDF Energy power station.
