“My role involves coordinator duties like managing digital documentation, handling data, raising contracts, considering freelancer CV’s and managing the department inbox. Aside from this, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to work on shows like Five Gold Rings, the ITV Gala, Pride of Britain, and more! I’ve also been a stand in for game show rehearsals, and been given the opportunity to shadow camera operators on Daytime.

I love working with the Talent Team for a variety of reasons, for one, I get to see behind the scenes of crewing up for shows, and have gained a really special insight into what ITV looks for when hiring freelancers. I also get on really well with my team, everyone is supportive, friendly and female – a big change from a male heavy workforce in my previous jobs.

I’ve definitely found my happy place here at ITV. Working for a company as honest & diverse as this has always been my dream. Growing up watching ITV’s shows and supporting the brand meant that I knew I’d feel right at home, and what better way to break into the industry than practical, hands on experience?”

“Hi I’m George and I work in the Sport department for ITV. I have grown up watching and participating in various sports so I feel very privileged to be able to work in this area of television. When the potential opportunity arose to be an apprentice for ITV Sport, I couldn’t wait to submit my application.

I have been in my role for five months now, during this time I’ve been involved in multiple roles including being a runner and most recently a junior producer for the snooker. My daily tasks commonly revolve around assisting with scheduling matters, however due to the varied nature of sport, my tasks can differ from one day to the next.

The highlight of my journey so far has been presenting a ‘dry run’ of the Europa League highlights programme as I strive to be a presenter in the future. Other experiences have included working at Wembley Stadium and meeting members of the royal family. My achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the ongoing support of the ITV apprenticeship scheme. Being an apprentice results in having a solid foundation in which to build a successful career and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
