Join us and you’ll be our priority. Our business is full of people who started out as apprentices including right up to senior level with our Chief Operating Officer. You’ll always have a senior mentor from the business who will help you with your learning and offer you career advice from someone who has been on the same journey.

Intermediate Trade Apprenticeship

If you’re passionate about becoming a qualified Bricklayer or a Carpenter/Joiner then this programme is for you. You’ll want to become an expert in your craft, enjoy working outside, being part of a legacy for your community and like the idea of keeping your career options open.

Join the programme via either the Bricklayer or the Carpenter/Joiner route and you’ll split your time between real work on-site and getting qualifications in college that will help you become a fully-qualified tradesperson.

Whatever you choose, you’re going to have great options once you’re finished. Go and work for one of our sub-contractors, set yourself up as self-employed or even work for us permanently as a qualified tradesperson. Some apprentices carry on training through our Assistant Site Manager Programme or go on to do one of our Sponsored Degree Programmes.

Commercial and Technical Programmes

If you like the idea of working on-site and in an office, as well as learning how to become a key part of a construction company, then these programmes are for you. You’ll be someone who likes to be in control of what you’re doing, eager to learn and who is potentially interested in taking a leadership role in the future.

Our apprenticeship programmes in Technical or Commercial will give you the skills and professional qualifications to enjoy a career that could take you right up to Director level.

Starting in September each year, the programme combines on and off-the-job training to learn the technical elements of the role with industry-leading further study. All of this together means you’ll have the foundations for an exciting and rewarding career with Barratt at the forefront of one of the most exciting industries in Britain.
