Kinds of Apprenticeship with the Army
Your apprenticeship will be in one of the following areas:
- Public services and health
- Engineering
- Telecommunications
- Animal care
- I.T.
- Logistics
- Construction
- Business administration
APPRENTICESHIP LEVELS
There are three levels of apprenticeships on offer to soldiers when they join the Army:
LEVEL 2
– Military trade training forms the main part of this level.
– You complete a range of key skills qualifications (including literacy and numeracy), and get a technical certificate.
– You will earn an NVQ Level 2 – equivalent to five good GCSE passes.
LEVEL 3
– Advanced apprenticeship
– Available for those in technical trades
– You need 5 GCSEs at C or above, or a Level 2 Army apprenticeship
– You earn an NVQ Level 3 – equivalent to two A-level passes
LEVEL 4
– Higher apprenticeship
– Work in real-time operations, countering real threats to national security, earning a Level 4 Diploma in Intelligence Operations.
