HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR APPLICATION

We are proud of who we are and what we continue to achieve and are looking for apprentices who will be proud to share this journey with us. When making your application please think about why you want to work for us.

We are looking for applicants with a genuine passion for working with animals, who are adaptable and build strong relationships with colleagues, customers and their pets.

PRACTICAL STEPS YOU CAN TAKE TO ENHANCE YOUR APPLICATION

  • Professional experience with small animals or dogs is great but any time spent working or volunteering with animals will add value to your CV. This could include a kennels, a rescue centre or groomers.
  • General work experience could help your application as you may find there are transferable skills to your chosen apprenticeships.
  • Do some research on our company and read up about the area of the business you are interested in joining.
  • Read the eligibility requirements of the apprenticeship programme, often they will ask for grades in Maths and English and depending on the level may require further GCSE Grades.
  • If you are asked to submit an application form or CV then spend some time on this as it may be your first introduction to us.
  • Include any relevant work experience, awards or certifications and make yourself stand out
  • Simple things such as a clear format,  checking your spelling and grammar really make a difference.
  • Get a friend or family member to read over your application too.
  • If you make it through our interview process you may be invited to a work trial, this is a perfect opportunity to meet the team and see what a typical day looks like. Let your personality shine through, be prepared to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in!
