This July, the annual Sutton Trust Apprenticeship Summer School returns for its fourth year, designed to inspire approx.130 students from disadvantaged backgrounds around the opportunities apprenticeships can present.
The Sutton Trust Summer School programme is designed to motivate students to make an informed decision about a future career and the practical steps they can take. Launched in 2020 to accompany the original university-focussed summer school, the apprenticeship edition introduces the opportunities apprenticeships can offer, offers practical advice around applying for an apprenticeship and includes workshops to truly bring apprenticeships to life.
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Amazing Apprenticeships on our Apprenticeship Summer School this year. They provide essential expert insights to students on our programme.
“The Summer School supports lower-income young people with information and advice, allowing students to explore whether an apprenticeship is the right path for them. We are grateful to Amazing Apprenticeships for their invaluable support.”

The Amazing Apprenticeship team will support the programme by hosting an engaging range of activities and webinars, both in the lead-up to and also during the 3-day residential to inspire the students to work together, commence the journey to discover all they can about apprenticeships and begin to consider them as a positive next step. They will also provide support to those applicants who have not been successful in obtaining a place on the summer school, ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to continue their research into apprenticeships as one of their options.
“We have been involved in The Sutton Trust Apprenticeship Summer School since its inception in 2020 and we’re looking forward to inspiring and enthusing each young person into considering an apprenticeship as their next step, offering the practical information on how to do so and real-life experience through the apprentices and employers that we work with,” said Founder and Director of Amazing Apprenticeships, Anna Morrison.
“The Sutton Trust’s work around social mobility and apprenticeships is vital, and we are delighted to partner with them on such an important programme to remove some of the barriers young people face in trying to access these exciting apprenticeship opportunities,” continues Morrison.
Applications for 2023 are now closed but students can register their interest for the 2024 intake.
