T Levels – how much do you know about the ‘new kid on the block’?

Amazing Apprenticeships are helping to spread the word about what they are and how you can explore them in more detail.

T Levels are an exciting new alternative to A levels and other post-16 options including apprenticeships, traineeships, college, sixth form and employment. They widen the choice open to those completing their GCSE’s and considering their future.

Working with the T Levels team as part of the Department for Education, the Amazing Apprenticeships team has have been busy curating a new suite of resources for teachers, careers advisers, parents, carers and students to help them to discover more detail around T-Levels and the opportunities they offer.

Anna Morrison CBE, director of Amazing Apprenticeships explains why this is so important

“We are passionate about promoting choice for young people. With T Levels there are two interesting challenges. Firstly, they are still a relatively new area of the education landscape and everyone is trying to figure out what they are and which students they might be best suited to. Our second challenge is that they are being rolled-out in a phased approach, meaning that we do not yet have the full offering (24 will be available by 2023) and whilst the number of providers is growing, they are not yet available in every town in the country. However, anyone who knows us – knows we love a challenge!”

The team have created a suite of resources to assist teachers and careers advisors in communicating this new offering to students,

“We have take a practical approach, working with teachers and careers advisors to understand the information they need to know and how this can be presented. No matter where you are in the country, and what T Level provision you have around you, our resources will equip you with a template to enable you to properly plan for the most relevant approach for your students.”

As well as the resources for teachers, Amazing Apprenticeships has curated a collection of activities to help parents, carers and students learn more about the offering for themselves including a fact sheet bundle, quiz and variety of videos

To introduce the resources, the team are hosting a webinar for teachers and careers advisors on 5th May, when they will offer tips on how best to implement them in schools and colleges to raise awareness around T-Levels. If you are interested in attending, please register here.
