What qualifications do I need?

To apply to be an apprentice at Gatwick, you’ll need to:

• Have, or be expecting, a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or Level 4/5 in English, maths and a technical subject
• Be interested in mechanical or electrical engineering
• Be aged between 16 and 57
• Embrace the desire to learn in a challenging, fast moving airport environment
• Show good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

How does the application process work?

You’ll need to complete an online application. Once you’ve applied, be prepared for:

Step 1: Application screening

Your online application and CV will be reviewed by our Management Team – if you fulfil our criteria and seem like you’d be a good fit for our team, we’ll progress your application to the next stage.

Step 2: Face-to-face interview

You’ll come in to meet key members of our recruitment team. They’ll ask you a series of questions designed to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your interest, attitude and suitability for the apprenticeship.

Step 3: Assessment Centre

If you’re successful at interview, you’ll be invited to an assessment centre. This is your chance to shine!

You’ll take part in a series of tasks – usually involving an interview, group exercise and practical assessment – which will help you to show that you have the skills and the character to help deliver essential engineering services across Gatwick.
