More about our apprenticeships
The apprentice scheme at Gatwick Airport has been running for over 40 years, with a third of the 300 apprentices it’s trained still working at the airport.
Apprentices form a key part of the Engineering department and we are always looking forward to driving this even further.
As Tony Yates, Head of Engineering says, “I was an apprentice at Lever Brothers, so am passionate about giving youngsters their chance. We have seen 300 go through our scheme in 40 years and have 15 apprentices at the moment, aged from 16 – 24”.
See the dedicated apprenticeships page on our website for more information.
Opportunities beyond the everyday
All of our apprentices have opportunities to take part in a range of fun and fulfilling activities away from work.
These include a week of outdoor adventures including kayaking, rock climbing and more at Outward Bound in Snowdonia, and a range of STEM engagement events.
Gatwick Airport Ltd
Gatwick Airport is the single busiest runway in the world. Our engineers work round the clock 365 days a year, and are essential to the smooth running of the airport. This means having a well-trained, motivated team of technicians is essential.
Ambitious, hardworking and prepared to work in an environment where no two days are the same, our engineering apprentices are at the heart of that team. Find out more now.
